This site is dedicated to the memory of Jean Lucas, formerly Shoobridge.

Jean Doreen Lucas, formerly Shoobridge, was born in Cliftonville, Nr. Margate, Kent, England on July 02, 1926. She was dearly loved throughout her life and will always be remembered by her family and the many friends she made during her lifetime.
Though she suffered from dementia in her twilight years, we never lost sight of the real person she was during our lives - a loving and caring mother who put her children before her own needs and was a constant source of encouragement in the (sometimes crazy) things 'we' undertook.
To name special people in her life would fill pages but, after losing Philip in 1985 to a heart attack, she met and married Terry Lucas who was a stalwart and fundamental life-changer for many years until his passing in 2008.
Her continued care was addressed though visiting became progressively more difficult as her condition worsened and travel distances increased.
Jean passed away on 30th September 2015.
Thoughts of 'mum,' Jean, will always combine with those of my younger brother Ian who died on 2nd December 2003 in a helicopter tragedy, an occurrence we all possibly feel contributed to her 'condition.'
Reunited with Terry, mum lays at rest in Honiton, Devon. Though not connected with the town, mum will be regularly visited by family members as they so desire. Her logical connections to Ferndown and Westmoors in Dorset are recognised but considered less practical in memoriam.
